What is the "Program?"

I bet you're wondering what I did, and what so many other people are doing to reach their optimal health and start living again. First of all, it's more than just a weight-loss program. It incorporates three key principles to create success: 
  1. Support - With the help of a personal health coach, a secret facebook group with others who are doing the same thing and access to medical professionals via email and phone, you can rest assured there's always someone there when you are struggling to stay strong and many to cheer you on along the way.
  2. Education - The best way to get healthy is to actually LEARN how that can happen. Through your health coach and weekly support calls, you will learn how to eat effectively through weight loss as well as how to maintain you're healthy weight for the rest of your life. You will also learn about the body and mind and how both of those are a key part to your overall health.
  3. Personalized Meal Plans - Depending on your current lifestyle, age, health, physical exercise, your personal health coach (that's me) will create a meal plan to help you reach your overall health goals.

My Story

For me, a healthy lifestyle was not something that came naturally. In fact, I thought I was just unlucky and didn't inherit the "skinny gene" that everyone else touted about. But that didn't mean I wanted to feel fat and unhealthy. I tried many different diets, routines, strategies and advice. Some yielding results while others were a disappointment. The whole process was frustrating. I didn't have any examples to pattern my life after and I was never taught what I needed to do to live a healthy lifestyle for the long-term. 

One day, I discovered an acquaintance who was a personal health coach and I thought, "maybe if someone cared about my success, I would too." Little did I know, it would change my life permanently. Through the Take Shape for Life program, I not only lost weight, I actually surpassed what I thought was physically possible for me and found myself happy, healthy, and not starving as I reached my healthy BMI range. Crazy, right? On top of that, I learned a ton along the way about how to sustain this new me for the rest of my life, and my mentality regarding food has completely changed. I feel in control of my life for the first time. I am ever so grateful I made the call and started this journey with my personal health coach, and have now returned the favor by becoming a health coach myself.
